The Perfect Man for Me Comes Along! Or Was He?
In January of 2020 I met the perfect guy online for me! This man lived an hour away, but it didn't matter. He said it was n problem because he was use to driving for his job. He was good looking, sweet, and was always giving me gifts. He would go out of his way to text me and call me daily, and he was always saying such nice things to me that made me feel so special. I don't think anyone has ever made me feel as wanted as he did.
At the end of February I got very sick with a repiratory problem. I was going to try to take myself to the doctor, but I didn't have the strength to get up off of the couch hardly. Mr. Wonderful called me during a morning break he had. He asked what was wrong and I told him how sick I was. He immediately left work to come and take me to the doctor.
This man took me to the doctor, then to the hospital emergency room. He stayed by my side. My oxygen level was only in the 80’s and I was having a hard time breathing. They wanted to keep me at the hospital on oxygen, but I refused to stay. I told them to prescribe temporary oxygen and whatever I needed to get through this at home. After numerous go rounds with the doctor, he finally agreed.
So, this sweet, wonderful man took me to get prescriptions, and then took me home. He helped me with everything I needed, prepared and carried food and drinks to me, and made me feel totally safe and loved. He even took the next several days off work to take care of me! No one had ever done anything like that for me before!
I got a little better each day. Soon my oxygen level was back up to 98%. It took a while to get over this thing, whatever it was. We soon found out in March that it was being called COVID-19. And the pandemic started! Everything was so crazy! Lockdowns and social distancing started. People were very afraid. We were afraid that we would be kept apart, so this sweet man moved into my house with me. This man would cook, do dishes, clean, do laundry, and did the yard work. After I had COVID-19 my allergies got worse, and I developed asthma. This virus had done some real damage to me.
We would go each week to mow the yard at his house. We also had my house to take care of. It wasn’t easy. One day while we were at his house, a truck pulled in the driveway. It was a dentist who owned some land that adjoined his property. He asked him if he would consider selling his house? We just looked at each other, feeling kind of stunned. He told the dentist that he would get back with him. We discussed it on the way to my house. It was like the answer we had been looking for.
Before long, this sweet, wonderful man sold his house, sold or gave away a lot of his belongings, brought some of his favorite things to my house, and put the rest in storage. After he was permanently moved in, we got engaged!
Lesson Learned: Just when you think you will never find love again, someone comes along and changes everything.
